The Fear of Man Prov. 29: 25 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

When you trust the Lord you have liberty. When you trust the Lord you have fear. There is liberty in fear of the Lord. When you do not trust the Lord you are ensnared by the fear of man. The fear of man is more common than the fear and trust of the Lord. This snare will trap you and then you are going to end up like some very notable characters in the Bible if you allow yourself to be ruled by the fear of man.

That snare will trap you and you will end up like:

Saul – 1 Sam 15:22-26 – fear of man causes you to disobey the words of God, to stubbornly rebel against the words of God, and to reject the words of God.

The Pharisees – Jn 12:42-43 – fear of man causes you to be quiet about Jesus and to love the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Pilate – Matt 27:24 – Pilate was determined to let Jesus go [Acts 3:13] but caved in under the pressure of the mob – fear of man causes you to reject Jesus.

Kings – 2 Ki 25:26 – they were afraid of the Chaldeans and went to Egypt – fear of man causes you to trust men rather than the Lord for safety and in the end to be ruined by the men you trust.

Solution: Trust the Lord and do not fear men!!! Ps 56:3, 11, Heb 13:5-6, Jos 1:9, Jer 1:8, 2 Tim 1:7.
