A Virtuous Woman who has a godly character, a good work ethic and is virtuous toward her husband and her children is going to definitely be rewarded for her virtue.  If you desire these rewards in your life then develop the virtue of this woman in Prov 31.  Rewards come later and most women don’t want to wait.  They want instant gratification.

Her rewards are:

Honor – v.25 – she is honored by those who witness what she has done, by her family [like Esther, Ruth, and Mary] and by the Lord Jesus Christ himself.

Joy – v.25 – she finds great joy in what she does for her family and for the Lord – like Paul found joy in leading the Thessalonians to the Lord in spite of the difficulty of laboring among them, 1 Thes 2:19 – like the Macedonian’s found joy in giving sacrificially to the Lord in spite of their great trial of affliction and their deep poverty, 2 Cor 8:1-2 – they found that God truly loveth a cheerful giver – sometimes you have to wait to see the joy – we often find that our reward of joy comes in due season, if we faint not – like Jesus found a joy set before him while he endured the cross – you find joy later when you have 50 years of good marriage and godly grandchildren – you are rewarded for rearing godly parents for your grandchildren – in this you find true and deep satisfaction.

Excellence – v.29 – what you do excels what the world’s women do – like Mary, who anointed Jesus before his burial and is recognized in all four gospels for this excellent work – about her Jesus said, “She hath done what she could” – like the widow with two mites who gave the offering that excelled all others though it was the smallest – you may think that what “little” you do does not excel the works of the “great” women of the world – but the Lord replies, “Who hath despised the day of small things” – as long as you have done your best, you excel.

Praise [31] – v.30 – she receives the praise of her family – women appreciate being appreciated – my mother loves thank you notes – my wife appreciates our thanks for the meals she prepares and other things she does – she receives the praise of Jesus later – just imagine when Jesus Christ recognizes you for a job well done – “well done thou good and faithful servant enter thou into the joy of thy rest.”

Fruit – v.31 – as in Phil 4:17; Heb 12:11; the fruit of your labors, a fruitful ministry – your fruitfulness is twofold: your fruitful yield on the labor you put into your family and your fruit at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
