The Most Neglected Book on Earth Heb 2:1-4 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
There is a frightful trend in this old world. That trend concerns the most neglected book on earth. The Bible is that book and in Heb 2:1-4 you can see the question that Paul raises about it, “How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?” You cannot.
The more I read the Bible the more that I realize how practical the Bible is. That’s why the Lord said, “Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Yet, though it is practical, it is very demanding. And so men that need to follow it don’t and they justify their reasons with unacceptable excuses.
I find that the Bible is neglected in business. It is neglected because:
The Bible demands salvation as the basis for understanding – 1 Cor 2:13-14; Prov 9:10
The Bible demands obedience as the prerequisite for success – Jos 1:8; Lk 12:16-21
The Bible demands work as the foundation for compensation – 2 Thes 3:10-12; Prov 16:26
The Bible demands submission as the qualification for employment – Matt 6:24, Eph 6:5-8
The Bible demands honesty as the principle for negotiation – Eph 4:25; Prov 19:1
The Bible demands faithfulness as the requirement for stewardship – 1 Cor 4:1-2, Lk 19:17
The Bible demands love as the motive for service – 1 Cor 13:1-8
The Bible demands service as the condition for promotion – Matt 20:25-28
The Bible demands giving as the method for growth – Lk 6:38, 2 Cor 9:7, Acts 20:35, Prov 11:24-25, Lk 18:22
The Bible demands godliness as the standard for reward – 1 Cor 3:11-15; Col 3:23-24; 1 Tim 6:6, Matt 6:33
Conclusion: It is because of these stringent demands that businessmen for the most part have neglected the Bible as their guide. And yet because they have neglected the Bible they have destroyed the economy. It is just a matter of time before this economy will collapse completely. It is not too late for you to return to the Bible in you business. Those who have know it to be extremely beneficial in all regards.
