God Conceals Things Prov 25:2 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
Prov 25:2 says, “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing.” Indeed, God conceals things. God conceals:
Himself – Jn 1:18; Jer 23:24 – God fills the universe and yet he cannot be seen. Nevertheless, he has revealed himself in his words if you will believe him.
The True Light – Gen 1:3; Jn 1:9 – there is a light that outshines the sun that was here before the sun. You cannot see it, though Paul got a glimpse of it [Acts 9:3]. Nevertheless, it is revealed in God’s words if you will believe them.
Heaven – Rev 4:1-2; Gen 1:7; Ps 148:4; Is 66:1 – heaven is outside of outer space and even the space ships and telescopes of the world cannot see it. Nevertheless, it is revealed in God’s words if you will believe them.
New Jerusalem – Gal 4:26; Rev 21:10-27 – New Jerusalem is in heaven and is thoroughly described in the Bible if you will believe what it says. However, you won’t see it until you get there if you are going.
Leviathan – Job 41:1; Is 27:1 – this is the physical body of the devil. The devil is a spiritual being but he is also a dragon and a serpent. You cannot see him but he is real. The Bible tells you all about him.
Hell – Lk 16:19-31 – hell is as real as the sun but it has been concealed so that you cannot see it. Nevertheless, it is revealed in God’s words if you will believe them.
Principalities and Powers (also known as the host of heaven) – Eph 6:12; 2 Ki 23:5; 2 Chr 18:18; Dan 10:13, 20; Rev 12:7 – up in the universe there are princes and angels. They war and they influence things on earth but they are concealed so that you cannot see them. Nevertheless, they are revealed in God’s words if you will believe them.
The foundations of the earth – Job 38:4-6; Ps 104:5 – you get the idea that the earth is just floating in outer space. But the Bible says that it was created with foundations. Do you have any idea where they are?
The temple of God (the body of Christ) – Eph 2:19-22; Eph 4:16; 1 Cor 3:16 – the Lord has been building a temple with the lively stones of every soul that has gotten saved since his death, burial and resurrection. But you cannot see it. That’s because God has not revealed it. Nevertheless, it is revealed in God’s words if you will believe them.
Conclusion: Deut 29:29 – the Lord has revealed these things to us in his words. He told us to live by faith and not by sight. Heb 11:1, these things are real. He doesn’t let you see them because you wouldn’t be able to stand the sight of them. They would either blind you or scare you so badly that you couldn’t survive. Know for sure that the temple is real and if you are not in it you need to be. Trust Christ and what he said.
