The Wicked Compass the Righteous Hab 1: 1-4

The Wicked Compass the Righteous Hab 1: 1-4 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

The primary fulfillment of Habakkuk is the Babylonian captivity [v.5] the Chaldeans come in.  Habakkuk writes around 620 BC.

The prophecy of Habakkuk is ultimately fulfilled at the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ.  The 3rd chapter is a great key to understanding this.  The second chapter has a lot to do with the destruction of the antichrist.  The last part of the 1st chapter has to do with his violence.  In this passage we see that Habakkuk sees the violence and the iniquity of wickedness similar to what will be here during the rise of the antichrist and he comments on it.

Hab 1:2 – crying out for the salvation of the Lord – Ps 89:46; Ps 10:1-2; Rev 6:9-10 – the Lord will not stop the violence of the antichrist until he has fully turned the remnant of the Jews to himself [that’s why tribulation saints have to endure to the end Matt 24:13] – the violence is the result of the violent man Ps 140:1-4.

Hab 1:3 – he sees iniquity and grievance – the times he sees are terrible – he sees spoiling, violence, strife and contention – according to Jas 3:14-16 mega churches with their sensuality and earthly wisdom are preparing the world for the coming iniquity, strife, contention and evil work.

Hab 1:4 – he sees the wicked compass the righteous – therefore the law is slacked – judgment doesn’t go forth and wrong judgment proceeds – nothing is right – just like in the Pharisees’ day – they wrongly judged Jesus in matters of his miracles [Beelzebub], sabbath, washing hands, fasting, the woman caught in adultery, Messiah as son of David and Lord, the judgment to crucify him – therefore Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD – and therefore we can expect the same kind of thing to happen to our country because of the wicked compass the righteous and because judgment is wrong.

Over the decades we have watched this very thing happen in the USA – they’ve taken God’s law out of government, courts, classrooms – George Bush said he fears another terrorist attack and rightly so – the Chaldeans were fierce against the Jews – wrong judgment about abortion [promiscuity], wrong judgment about evolution [creation now a legally dangerous word], homosexuality and homosexual marriages – destruction is coming if God repeats what he did in Habakkuk’s day and what he did to Sodom and Gomorrah.
