Jesus is the desire of all nations as we will see in a minute – but first we will check the cross references for a doctrinal understanding of what is in this text.

We are dealing with a prophecy concerning the millennial temple – the Lord will fill this house with glory like he did Solomon’s temple and Moses’ tabernacle [2 Chr 5:13-14; Ex 40:35].

Jesus will be the desire of all nations:

They desire peace – Is 9:6-7, he is the Prince of peace

They desire wealth – Deut 8:18, he gives power to get wealth

They desire security – Jn 10:28-29; Heb 13:5, he keeps his own 100% secure

They desire a god – 1 Tim 3:16, he is God manifest in the flesh

Jesus is the answer to all of their desires and yet they forsake him – Ps 9:17 – we cannot let our nation forget!!

And for us who are saved, he is our desire – he has fulfilled every desire that we had and fully satisfied us – and every temporal and sensual desire we have that is insatiable by the things of this earth he has exposed as vain and turned us from them – we are dead to those things [Col 3:5].
