The Day Cometh Mal. 4:1-6

The Day Cometh Mal. 4:1-6 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

The day cometh is a reference to the second coming of Jesus Christ.  Doctrinally, when Jesus returns he comes in flaming fire so the day burns as an oven.  The wicked are burned up as stubble.  The Lord returns as the Sun.  Therefore, men worship the sun.  The Lord returns with healing in his wings to heal the incurable wound the Jews endure in the Tribulation.  The Jews will be fed as calves.  The wicked will be trodden down under the horse hooves of the armies that come with the Lord.  They wicked are consumed as by a nuclear bomb.  The two witnesses who precede his coming are Moses and Elijah.  We give multiple references to this truth in the audio of this broadcast.

Spiritually, you need to be ready for his return because people will quit thinking about his return before he gets here.  How do I get ready for his coming?

Get saved – salvation is simple in Jesus Christ – he died to pay for your sins because you are a sinner and when you repent of your sin and receive Jesus Christ, he saves you.

Humble yourself – Mal 4:1 – because the proud are burned up at his second coming – if he is going to burn up the proud when he returns, what makes you think that his attitude toward your pride is different just because you are saved.

Turn to righteousness – Mal 4:1 – the Lord desires holiness – if he is going to burn the unrighteous at his second coming what makes you think he has become complacent with your unrighteousness just because you are saved?

Fear the Lord – Mal 4:2 – we are to fear the Lord – those of us who are saved should fear the Lord more than any others in the world – the fear of the Lord keeps us from getting into sin because we are aware that the Lord sees us always – when coupled with the love of the Lord this fear is very healthy.

Remember the law of the Lord – Mal 4:4 – we are not lawless just because we have gotten saved – we know that we are not justified by the law – nevertheless being justified by the faith of Christ does not give us the liberty to violate the law.

Turn to your family – Mal 4:6 – in the perilous times that precede the Lord’s return children are disobedient to parents and they oppress their parents – the devil is out to divide the families – so turn to your families – fathers raise them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord – children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right.
