Rooted and Grounded Eph 3:17 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
Eph 3:17 says, “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love…” And then the thought continues into the next verse. Today we are going to talk about being rooted and grounded. We are going to look at this verse from the standpoint of Christians who don’t pan out and grow. They don’t take root downward and bear fruit upward, Is 37:31. If you are one of those,
Your problem may be that you are not rooted and grounded:
In The Lord Jesus Christ – Eph 3:17 – other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ [1Cor 3:11]. Upon this rock I will build my church [Matt 16:18]. The foundation is Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone [Eph 2:20]. Jesus is the root and offspring of David [Rev 22:16]. You have been performing but you have not been saved.
In The word of God – the word was sown in your heart and came up but you had no root in you [Mk 4:16-17]. Or you had a little root that came up in the thorns [Mk 4:18-19]. Now you are tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine [Eph 4:14].
In The church – the church is the pillar and ground of the truth [1 Tim 3:15]. The church is the household of God [Eph 2:19-22; 1 Pet 2:5]. God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him [1 Cor 12:18].
In The love of Christ – you are saved, you know the Bible doctrines, you are in church but you are not in the love of God [Jude 21]. Your walk with God is non-existent [2 Cor 6:16, 17]. You have virtually no fellowship with Christ [1 Jn 1:3].
Conclusion: Now if you find yourself in any one of these cases you have found out why you haven’t grown, why your life hasn’t changed since you have been saved, why there is no spiritual evidence of salvation. You are not rooted and grounded. And you can begin to change this today by getting rooted and grounded in that which you need.
