Names of Jesus “S” Part III CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

When you consider the names and titles of the Lord Jesus Christ, there are so many that we must deal with them alphabetically just to do them justice. There are many wonderful things that you will learn about Jesus when you study the names of Jesus.  Today, we’ll study some of the names of Jesus and his titles that start with the letter “S.”

Sacrifice – Heb 9:26 – he suffered as a sacrifice for us to put away sin.

Saviour – Titus 2:13 – he is the Saviour for he saves us from our sin; salvation is in a man.

Scourged – Jn 19:1 – he was scourged though it is not right to strike princes for equity.

Sorrowful – man of sorrows – Is 53:3 – because he was despised and rejected.

Sin – 2 Cor 5:21 – God made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Surety – Heb 7:22 – he paid the price for your salvation like someone making your bail.

Sanctification – 1 Cor 1:30 – he’ll clean you up and give you something to do for him till Jesus comes.

Stumbling block – 1 Cor 1:23 – unto the Jews he is a stumbling block – they can’t believe their Messiah is Jesus.
