In preaching this sermon on prayer, notice the:

Priority of Prayer – 1 Tim 2:1-3 – “first of all” – many in an African tribe had gotten saved and many men would pray privately outside the camp – when one man’s prayer life waned, the others would say, “Brother, the grass grows on your path yonder.”

Privilege of Prayer – Heb 4:16 – “come boldly” – we can come to God as a child runs and jumps into the lap of her father.

Personality of Prayer – Matt 14:30 – you have personal fellowship with the Lord in prayer – you talk with him just the way you talk – note the individuality of prayers prayed in the Bible.

Power of Prayer – Eph 6:10, 18 – we can stand by prayer in the power of the Lord’s might.

Proportion of Prayer – Eph 3:20 – you cannot ask the Lord too much – we often ask him too little.

Conclusion: It would be great to be known as a praying church who knows the needs of missionaries ahead of time through prayer and who is used by the Lord to meet those needs on time.
