The Judgement Seat of Christ

Romans 14:10-12

                At the Judgement Seat of Christ, every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Finally an event made especially for the “selfie” generation, be sure it will be all about you. 2 Cor.5:10 says that we will receive the things done in the body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. We will be rewarded for good things and suffer loss for bad things. 1 Cor.3:13-15 tells of the loss and that our works will be tried of what sort they are. Do you think about this very often?

This judgement is:

Not about your salvation – John 3:16-18

Not about sins committed before salvation – Heb.10:17

Not about sins committed and confessed after salvation – 1 John 1:9

So, what will be judged there?

Our Works –      1 Cor.3:13 “Every man’s work shall be made manifest”

Ecc.12:14 “For God shall bring every work into judgement”

Eph.2:8-10 created unto good works

Rev.4:11 created for His pleasure             Good works = pleasing God

Our Words–        Matt.12:36-37   “every idle word” (unprofitable or thoughtless)

1 Peter 3:10, Words that are evil.   Prov. 6:16-19, lying tongue, false witness, soweth                                      discord

Rom. 16:17-18, Deceitful words     Eph. 5:1-4, Filthy words

Our Thoughts –   Matt.15:19-20 “evil thoughts”

Gen.6:5-7, 8:20-21 a problem from the beginning

Your thought life – Think on these things    Phil.4:8

Our Secrets –      Rom.2:16   “God shall judge the secrets of men”

Ps.90:8 secret sins

Our Motives –    Correct – 2Cor.5:14 constrained by his love (Urged irresistibly or powerfully)

Wrong – 1Cor.3:21 self-glory – to be seen of men

You know that you are going to have to account for these things, why not work on them today?
