Faithfulness is one of the key characteristics in a Christian whom God will use and bless [Prov 28:20].  God requires us to be faithful because he is the faithful God [Deut 7:9].  In the parable of the talents in Matt 25:14-30, the distribution of and return on the talents was simply a test to determine the faithfulness of each of the servants [Matt 25:21, 23].  The Lord intended to give the faithful servants rule over many things.  God checks to see if you are faithful in the least [Lk 16:10] before he will give you more responsibility.  You must, therefore, be:

A faithful steward – 1 Cor 4:2 – you have a stewardship over God’s possessions.  Your body is his [1 Cor 6:19-20] and your tithe is his [Lev 27:30].  Are you a faithful steward over his possessions?

A faithful friend – Prov 27:6; Prov 18:24 – when you become a true friend to someone, you are to be faithful in your friendship through the good times and the bad.

A faithful Spouse – Hos 2:19-20 – your marriage is for your lifetime.  Be faithful before you marry and remain faithful after you marry.

A faithful witness – Prov 14:5 – if you tell lies, you will not be a faithful witness for the Lord.  Be truthful and be faithful to tell others about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Conclusion: we are to be kings and priests with the Lord during his millennial reign.  You won’t have authority to reign with him as a king during the millennium if you are not faithful now.  Your “reign” will be rewarded according to your faithfulness now.
