Where I Will Meet With Thee Ex 25:22 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

The Lord gave Moses three specific places where he would meet with him, the priests or the children of Israel.  These three places typify where the Lord meets with us.  I know that the Lord is in you if you are saved.  But the Lord desires to meet with you, personally, in fellowship.  These three places are:

At the mercy seat – Ex 25:17-22; Lev 16:2, 14-15, 29-30. The priest went once each year to apply the blood to the mercy seat on the day of atonement.  Jesus Christ is our atonement [Rom 5:10-11] and he only had to go in once to obtain our eternal redemption [Heb 10:10-14].  When you are saved, you become a child of God.  By his salvation you and I can have fellowship with God, forever [1 Jn 1:3-7].  In other words, if you are not saved, you are denied this kind of meeting with God, until you are saved.  Until then, your efforts to meet with God are just vain, religious pursuits.

At the door of the tabernacle – Ex 29:42-43 – this is where the burnt sacrifices were offered.  After we are saved, we must offer our bodies a living sacrifice to the Lord in surrender to his will [Rom 12:1-2].  When we surrender to the Lord, the Lord meets with us.  Many Christians testify of a time in their lives where they surrendered, and their walk with God has been much better since then.  I often call this time of surrender “a head-on collision with God.” What a meeting!!  Your life is never the same after this.

At the altar of incense – Ex 30:1-7 – the altar of incense pictures prayer [Ps 141:2; Rev 8:3-4].  This altar is in the holy place of the tabernacle where the candlestick and table of shewbread are.  There is light from olive oil burning in the lamps.  And there is bread.  These picture the Holy Spirit and Jesus, the light of the world and the bread of life.  We commune with them in the words of God.  “The entrance of thy word giveth light,” Ps 119:130.  “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God,” Matt 4:4.  When you arise in the morning [Ex 30:7] and pray and read your Bible, God meets with you there, everyday.

Conclusion: when you get saved, surrender your life to Christ.  Get on your knees and in the Bible.  Let the Holy Spirit teach you.  God will meet with you in fellowship in a way that exceeds all other expectations you could possibly have as a Christian.
