In Ezekiel 32, Ezekiel prophesies the destruction of Egypt at the hand of the king of Babylon, and then he prophesies the fall of the terrorist nations in the Tribulation who are enemies of the Jews.
Ezek 32:1-16 The Historical Fall of Egypt
Ezek 32:2 Pharaoh compared to a young lion and a whale in the seas. Both of these are typical of the devil. 1 Pet 5:8 the devil is a roaring lion. Jn 1:17, 2:2, Matt 12:40, Jonah was swallowed by a whale and cried to the Lord out of the belly of hell. When Pharaoh came forth with his rivers, he expanded the area of his dominion into other nations.
Ezek 32:3 Egypt is taken in the Lord’s net, by a company of many people. These are the Chaldeans and their allies who defeat Egypt.
Ezek 32:4-6 the carcasses of their armies are left in the field for the fowls of the heaven and the beasts of the field to eat, foreshadowing the Tribulation, Rev 19:17-18. The bloodshed is massive and foreshadows the bloodshed in the Tribulation, Rev 14:19-20.
Ezek 32:7-8 when Pharaoh and Egypt fall, darkness covers his land, which happened also before the Exodus, Ex 10:21, and will happen again in the Tribulation, Rev 16:10, Rev 6:12-13.
Ezek 32:9-10 the fall of Pharaoh causes amazement and fear in the hearts of other kings and nations. The shock is that a nation so powerful could fall. It falls by the sword of the Lord. When the sword of the Lord is drawn, no one can stand.
Ezek 32:11-16 Ezekiel prophesies the destruction of Pharaoh and Egypt by the sword of the king of Babylon, thus causing the nations of the earth to lament her fall. Babylon succeeds because the Lord puts his sword into the hand of the king of Babylon to defeat Pharaoh, Ezek 30:24-25.
Ezek 32:17-32 The Prophetic Fall of Terrorist Nations in the Tribulation
Ezek 32:17-18 in the Tribulation, Egypt and the famous nations will be cast into the pit, Num 16:30, 33, into the nether parts of the earth, where hell is, Is 14:15, Ezek 32:21.
Ezek 32:19-20 these are the uncircumcised (Gentile) nations, slain by the sword, Rev 6:4, 8.
Ezek 32:22-32, these nations cause terror in the land of the living, v.23-27, 30. These are what we call terrorist nations, today. These nations include: Asshur, v.22, Elam, v.24, Meshech, Tubal, v. 26, Edom, v.29, and the princes of the north, and the Zidonians, v.30.
Ezek 32:31 Pharaoh shall be comforted when they join him in hell, after God causes his terror to fall on them, Ezek 32:32.
God Will Fight Against Terrorist Nations
These nations are the enemies of God and Israel, God’s chosen people. They are the ones who fight against Israel in the Tribulation, in an attempt to destroy them, Ps 83:1-8. God fights against these nations to punish them and deliver Israel, Zech 14:2-3, Zeph 3:8, Jer 25:15-29.
