1 Cor 6:20 says that we are to glorify God in our spirit, as well as our body. How do you glorify God in your spirit?
You glorify God in your spirit:
Through spiritual transformation,2 Cor 3:18. Rom 12:1-2, you are transformed by the renewing of your mind. Eph 4:22-24, you are renewed in the spirit of your mind. The Holy Spirit is working in us to conform us to the image of Jesus Christ, Rom 8:29. And this spiritual transformation brings glory to God because you know and everyone else knows that you didn’t do it. God does it.
Through praise in heaviness,Is 61:3. Israel will be given the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. And they will receive the oil of joy for mourning. In 1 Thes 5:16, Paul, who experienced tremendous heaviness in his ministry, wrote, “Rejoice evermore”. Paul and Silas did this in Philippi, Acts 16. You glorify God in your spirit when you can praise God in the midst of your heaviness.
Through suffering as a Christian,1 Pet 4:12-16. And see 1 Pet 2:20. You glorify God in your spirit when you glorify God through your suffering. This is so significant that your reign with him in the millennium is dependent upon it, Rom 8:17-18, 2 Tim 2:11-13.
