Introduction: Today we are living in a world, that is the world system, that is against God and the Bible. The world is against Bible Believers and the institution of the family. These people hate God, work for the devil, and are attacking you. After looking at this lesson thoroughly, hopefully we are better equipped to protect what God has given us and entrusted us with, that is the family.
1. Attack on Marriage- The attack on marriage is the world forbidding to marry while living together, and thinking it is right. Also, if it’s okay to not marry, then it’s okay to divorce whenever and for whatever. 1 Timothy 4:1-6 / vs 3” forbidding to marry”. Priest in the Catholic church.
- If your not married- they don’t want you to marry.
- If your married- it’s okay if you get a divorce, look for someone else.
- Satan Attacks Marriage– This is a “doctrine of devils”- I Tim 4:1 not of “good doctrine” I Timothy 4:6.
- God Ordains Marriage- Genesis 2:18-23 “a help meet”.
Genesis 3:20- “his wife’s name” Genesis 5:2- “and blessed them”. God blesses a marriage that is built according to His ways.
-Ephesians 5:31-32- “for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be on flesh”. This is the proper way. Today, young men and woman are leaving the home to live with someone and just give a try, like you test drive a new car.
-Hebrews 13:4 – “Marriage is honourable in all”- Honourable means, It is highly esteemed, most precious, to hold as the most valuable bond. This is what God thinks of marriage.
-People today want to have the blessings of God regarding marriage but don’t want to do it God’s way.
2. Attack on Husbands- The attack on husbands as leaders of the home. The World wants the man to have the Biblical role of the wife and stay at home while the women works and provides for the family.
Ephesians 5:23- “For husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church; and he is the savior of the body”. The world is okay if the man takes a back seat role in the marriage and allows the wife to take charge.
I Timothy 2:11-13- “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer no a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve”. The woman wants to usurp the authority and undermined the man’s responsibility.
I Peter 3:7- Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered”. Lost men don’t honor their wives, but as Christian men, we should. You have something precious, you just don’t know it.
Titus 1:1-2 “But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: that the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience”. Godly men should be an example to younger men.
Titus 1:6-8 “a patter of good works”. “sound speech that cannot be condemned”.
3. Attack on Wives-The attack on wives is that they don’t need their husbands, the woman can do just as good or better with or without the husband, equality. Yet, women are not inferior to men, it is just the order of God as Christ and the Church. Christ is the protector and comforter of the church and so should the husband be to the wife.
Ephesians 5:22- “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord”. There is to be a partnership and order within the family. The world looks at this and thinks women are superior than men, men and women are equal in God’s eyes. The World wants the women to rule in the home, at work, and in the church. This is contrary to God.
Proverbs 31:10-31- This woman is totally contrary to what the World wants her to be, yet this woman is better in all aspects. She is special.
The world wants the wife to have a career and have equal rights as the man however, the job of a wife and mother is a full-time job that is far more beneficial and rewarding than having a career.
In supporting your husband and children, you are ministering to them, you are obeying God and gaining rewards.
God wants you to teach it to younger women- Titus 2:4-5 “that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children”.
Conclusion: Don’t be deceived regarding the family and its role in the Bible. God desires for you to live a life according to what the scripture says and not on people’s opinion, it’s always the best way to live.
