Ants prepare their meat in the summer. See Prov 6:6-8, as well.
Gaining wisdom from ants, you should likewise:
Prepare yourself unto every good work – 2 Tim 2:21. Do what Paul says in 2 Tim 2:19-23. Purge yourself from these. You should depart from iniquity, become a vessel of honour, flee also youthful lusts, and avoid foolish and unlearned questions to be meet for the master’s use.
Prepare for battle – Prov 21:31. Wise nations prepare for war. The horse is prepared against the day of battle. Nevertheless, the horse is a vain thing for safety, Ps 33:16-17. We know our battle is coming, Eph 6:10-18. So daily prepare to stand in the armor of God. Our armor is not a vain thing. In it we are safe in the battle when it comes.
Prepare thy work without – Prov 24:27. In church planting and missions, it is important to prepare your work without, make it fit for yourself in the field, and then build your house. One of our missionaries in a closed country spent five years diligently learning the language, culture, and law to be able to do his work on the field. He has been there for over 30 years now, getting the work of missions done. He prepared.
Prepare to meet thy God – Amos 4:12. If you are here to day without Christ, you must receive Jesus before you meet God. Otherwise, you will spend eternity in hell.
According to the Second Advent passage in Lk 12:41-48, one servant “knew his Lord’s will, and prepared not himself”. Consequently, he shall be beaten with many stripes. From this we should gain wisdom. You should always be prepared for the rapture, by knowing now what the Lord wants you to do and be found doing it when he gets here.
