Stay With The Guide
Audio PlayerWhen you fish with a guide he’ll take you to the right location, he’ll give you the right instruction for the day, and he’ll give you directions along the way. But you have to stay with the guide.
We have a guide in our eternal life. But you have to stay with the guide and be humble enough to do what he says. Ps 25:9, “The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way”.
How does the Lord guide us? He guides us with:
His Holy Spirit, Jn 16:13. The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth. He will never guide you in a way contrary to this Bible, but always according to it’s words. And this is the primary source of guidance.
His eye, Ps 32:8. He has his eye on you so he knows what you’re up to at all times and when and where you need direction. Job 34:21. I am amazed at the way God has brought people right to the place where he wants them.
His preachers, Acts 8:31. He’ll give you someone who knows, in the Bible, the things you’re learning in the Bible. They are unlike the blind guides of Matt 23:16.
His counsel, Ps 73:24. God gives you people who give you his counsel when you need it and you seek it. They won’t tell you what to do, but they will show you what God says and how he has led them in their lives. With this counsel, then, God will show you what to do.
Integrity, Prov 11:3. Integrity is, among other things, rightness, uprightness. You can see this in the text. God shows us what is right. The he expects us to follow what is right so that we will become right through his righteousness. That’s integrity. And he expects that integrity to guide you.
You don’t need to ask when you already know what’s right. You just need to do it. I say, “You can never go wrong doing right”. And, “There’s no right way to do wrong”. Remember these. They build integrity and integrity will guide you.
Conclusion: God guides us with his Holy Spirit, his eye, his preachers, his counsel, and integrity. Stay with the guide.
