Talk About Jesus
Talk about Jesus. Preach the gospel. This is universally the way to reach men and grow the body. But why don’t people do it.
Mk 8:34-38 They’re ashamed. You don’t want them to know that you are the Lord’s. Remember, though, that Jesus hung naked on the cross in front of that mob and his own mother. He wasn’t ashamed to do that for you. We must humble ourselves and exalt Jesus Christ. We don’t want him to be ashamed of us when he returns.
Jn 9:18-23 They’re afraid. Peer pressure is very powerful. You don’t want to be separated from your friends. You have a reputation you’re trying to protect. Jesus made himself of no reputation. Trust him to take that fear away from you, Ps 56:3, 11.
Rom 8:45 They’re carnal. When we are spirit-filled we are going to speak and tell people about Jesus. When we are carnal, we spend more time pursuing temporal rather than eternal things. We must be filled with the Spirit.
Ps 142:4 They don’t care. David wrote, “No man cared for my soul”. In Jn 5 the impotent man said, “Sir, I have no man”. The Samaritan was the only one who stopped to help the man who was beaten half to death. We must ask the Lord to give us a heart of compassion.
