Be Filled With The Spirit of God Ephesians 5:18 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

In Eph 5:18, we find that to be filled with the Spirit is an imperative.  So, if you are not filled with the Spirit then you are not doing what the Lord told you to do.  The question we need to ask ourselves is “Are we filled with the Spirit?”  If you are then here are some of the things that the Lord will be doing through you.  You will have a:

Bold Testimony – Acts 4:31 – when the disciples were filled they spoke the word of God with boldness, Jn15:26-27 – you will notice boldness in your testimony of Jesus Christ.

Sanctified Life – 2 Thes 2:13 – you will notice that you are more separated from the world and more set apart for God – there will be holiness in your life 1 Thes 5:23.

Love of Truth – Jn 16:13, 14:26 – you will want Bible and you will want truth – and when you find the truth you will have an appetite for more – 1 Cor 2:9-14, you will understand it [contrast 2 Tim 3:7] and you will not be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, Eph 4:14.

Spiritual Strength – Rom 8:8-14 – you will have a supernatural strength to fight against sin in your life, Eph 3:16.

Effectual Fervent Prayer – Rom 8:26-27 – the Holy Spirit will lead you to pray according to the Lord’s will, making your prayer more effectual and thus more fervent.

Spiritual Fruit – Gal 5:22-23 – your life will start demonstrating more of the characteristic fruit of the Spirit that cannot be imitated but can only be a product of the Holy Spirit in you.

Divine Love – Rom5:15 – you will have a love that can only be characterized as godly – a love for your spouse, children, brethren and the lost that is supernatural.

Now, if these aren’t in you fully, then you are backslidden.  And if they are, then you are filled.  And you need to continue to be filled regularly.
