This is the third part in the series on dealing with temptation.  The world runs contrary to the Lord.  Consequently, Christians who get too close to the world are subjected to more sin than those who stay away from the world.  It is easy to fall prey to temptations that inundate you from the world because you are continuously exposed to them and they are generally accepted by society.  Here are some verses to help you deal with the world.

The world is foolish – 1 Cor 3:19 For the _________ of this world is ________________ with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

The world is temporary – 1 Jn 2:17 the __________ passeth away, and 1 Cor 7:31 the _______________ of this world passeth away.  Matt 24:3 … what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the ________ of the world?

The world is evil – Gal 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this _____________ _________ world, according to the will of God and our Father.

And the world is worth less than one soul – Mk 8:36 For what shall it ___________ a man, if he shall gain the __________ world, and lose his own soul?

The world is controlled by the devil – 2 Cor 4:4 he is “the _____ of this world.”

Thus the world and the Lord are opposed – Jn 14:30 … for the prince of this world cometh, and hath ______________ in me.  Jas 4:4 …know ye not that _________________ of the world is ___________ with God?  Whosoever therefore will be a ____________ of the world is the ___________ of God.  Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the ____________ of this world, according to the ______________ of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of _____________________.

And the world is opposed to us – Jn 17:14 … and the world hath __________ them, because they are _________ of the world, even as I am _________ of the world.

Therefore we are to – 1 Jn 2:15 ________ not the world, neither the __________ that are in the world.  If any man ________ the world, the love of the Father is ______ in him.  And we are to – Rom 12:2 be not _________________ to this world, but be ye ___________________ by the renewing of your mind.   And – Titus 2:12 … denying ungodliness and ______________ lusts, we should live ___________, _________________, and _________, in this present world.
