Two Ways To Win Them John 4:39-42 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
This broadcast will give you help on how to win souls. When the woman at the well went to tell the townspeople about Jesus, they believed her because of two things:
Her personal testimony – She gave her personal testimony of Jesus and “many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified…” (John 4:39)
People disqualify themselves for a variety of reasons, from not knowing enough Bible to just being afraid. You don’t need to worry about your past, just testify about what Jesus did for you. People who aren’t saved don’t have a testimony, they have a religion.
The woman didn’t wait to go to church, or to clean up her life, she started testifying as soon as she was saved.
In John chapter 9, the blind man was healed by Jesus and the Pharisees demanded to hear his testimony. He told them honestly, and they reviled him. He was willing to get kicked out of the synagogue to take a stand for Jesus Christ.
The Pharisees wanted to put Lazarus to death, because his testimony was very influential in getting Jews saved. (John 12)
Why would you keep your mouth shut? Perhaps Jesus never did anything notable for you. If you’re not saved, you need to get on your knees, repent of your sins, ask his forgiveness, and let him cleanse you, and receive him personally as your Savior. And then, go tell someone what God did for you.
The testimony of scripture – Not only did they believe the words of the woman, but they believed the words of God. “And (they) said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.” (John 4:42)
Get them to read the Bible. The scriptures testify of Jesus. The people believed not just because of the woman, but because they heard Jesus Christ himself.
2 Timothy 3:15 “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
John 5:39“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
