Righteous Judgment John 7:14-34 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
The difference between Jesus and the Pharisees is that His doctrine and judgment were right and the doctrine and judgment of the Pharisees were wrong. The Pharisees were the most learned of men, but the problem was that they had not learned the wisdom of GOD. If they had then they would have accepted Jesus as the word of truth right there on the spot. Look at these verses. 2 Timothy 3:7 – “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Proverbs 19:27 – “Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.”
The Pharisees received their knowledge from men in error while Jesus received His knowledge from our Father in Heaven. Bad teaching produces bad doctrine and this is why many people who truly love and want to serve the Lord find themselves in error. It is because they received instruction from the wrong sources. If they had done as Jesus Christ had done they would have double-checked their sources and discovered whether what they had been taught was true.
How did Jesus learn?
Jesus learned from GOD.
Isaiah 50:4 – “The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.”
You too can learn from GOD by picking up and reading a King James Bible.
John 8:28 – “Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.”
John 12:49 – “For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.”
The Pharisees could have checked out what they had been told by humbling themselves before God Almighty and saying, “God Almighty if what this man is teaching us is right or if it is contrary to our doctrine then please show us.” Then God would have shown them.
Jesus followed GOD’s will.
John 7:17 – “If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.”
John 8:39 – “They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.”
John 4:34 – “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.”
Luke 22:42 – “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.”
John 6:38 – “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
John 6:40 – “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Jesus Glorified GOD.
Jesus ALWAYS sought the glory of GOD the Father.
John 7:18 – “He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.”
Matthew 23:3 – “All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.”
Jesus ALWAYS sought the glory of GOD the Father. Therefore His doctrine and judgment were righteous and true.
1 John 5:20 “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”
John 14:6 – “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
While the Pharisees broke the Law of Moses (which they claimed to honor) Jesus kept the Law. (2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 2:22, Mark 7:5, Exodus 20:13, Deuteronomy 19:15-16). The Pharisees also blasphemed the Holy Spirit (John 7:20, Mark 3:29-30, John 5:16-18) and judged by appearance instead of righteous judgment (John 7:24).
