A Brother Offended Prov. 18:19 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
Remember first of all – Ps 119:165
This proverb is talking about a brother, not a lost person who might get offended because you witness to him – Is 29:21, Matt 15:12
Be careful not to offend – because it is nearly impossible to get an offended party back.
How can you offend a brother?
By doing something that might weaken his faith – wound thy weak brother – Rom 14:21, 1 Cor 8:13
By not maintaining a good report without – Matt 17:27, 2 Cor 6:3
By hatred and betrayal – Matt 24:10 [more prevalent as we approach the tribulation]
By preaching or teaching bad doctrine – Rom 16:17
By excess liberty – 1 Cor 10:31-32
By what you say – Jas 3:2
If you offend someone, ask for forgiveness – the sooner the better. And if they offend you, don’t hold a grudge.
And don’t air out the grievance with others (Matt 18).
