When you receive the Lord Jesus Christ you become part of the family of God. Many of the things mentioned in this prayer deal with what God did by sending Jesus Christ, what Jesus did for the Disciples while He was here and what the Disciples did in response.

What God did

God gave Jesus the Disciples (v.6) – This shows you that there were men that God gave to be with the Lord Jesus Christ based on the condition of their hearts and what they did with the words of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 6:37, Matt. 13:15).

God gave Jesus the words (v.8) – One of the greatest things that we have in the world is the King James Bible for it contains God’s words (2Tim. 3:16, Psalm 68:11, John 12:49-50). God’s Holy Spirit inspires those words as we read them.

God gave Jesus Christ to the world (v.8) – (John10:27, 2Tim.2:19, Matt. 6:9). There are two spiritual families (John8:38-44). Because of the fall of Adam everyone is born a child of the devil. If you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you are then adopted as a child of God and inherit theKingdom ofGod. (John 12:49, Heb. 7:25, John14:21,14:23, 15:5, Heb. 1:3)

What Jesus did

Jesus manifested God’s name

Jesus gave us God’s words

Jesus spoke the things God commanded Him to speak

Jesus prayed for us

Jesus glorifies himself in us

Jesus left and is now with the Father

What the Disciples did

The Disciples kept God’s words (v.6)

The Disciples believed God (v.7)

The Disciples received and believed the words of God (v.8 – 1Thes.2:13)
