Jesus confirmed that the Pharisees were trusting Moses, but they didn’t believe Moses.  They were trusting Moses for the foundation of their doctrine, but they didn’t believe what he said.  Modern Bible translators will say that their Bibles uphold the fundamentals of the faith, but they don’t believe what God said and they don’t believe that God’s words exist today.

Many scholars do not believe that Moses wrote the first five books of the Old Testament. They trust in Moses for the foundation of their doctrine, but they don’t believe him, so they say that there are multiple writers of the first five books.  But that’s not true according to the Bible.

Now look at these following verses that attest to Moses’ authorship and then believe the words that he wrote!!

Moses wrote the law (first five books).  In Luke 24:44 Jesus said, “These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.”

2 Chronicles 33:8 says, “Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.”

Moses wrote Deuteronomy.  1 Corinthians 9:9 says that it is written in the law of Moses, thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn.  That text is found in Deuteronomy 25:4.  In Rom10:19 Paul says, “Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people…” That phrase is in Deuteronomy 32:21. Therefore, Moses wrote Deuteronomy.

Moses wrote Numbers.  Joshua 1:13-15 says, “Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.”  You can find that in Numbers 32:20-28.  Joshua 14:9-10 talks about Moses talking about the land. This is found in Numbers 14:23-24. Joshua attests to Moses’ authorship of Numbers.

Moses wrote Leviticus.  John 8:5 talks about Moses’ law concerning stoning. That can be found in Leviticus 20:10.  Rom 10:5 talks about Moses’ law, from Leviticus 18:5.

Moses wrote Exodus.  Romans 9:15 records a conversation between Moses and God, found in Exodus 33:19.  Luke 20:37 describes Moses at the bush in Exodus 3:6.

Moses wrote Genesis.  Mark 10:6 talks about the creation of man, found in Genesis 1:27.

Conclusion: The very substance of your faith in Jesus depends upon you believing what Moses said!!  In John 1:45 Philip tells Nathanael that they have found Jesus of Nazareth about whom Moses wrote in the law.  In Luke 16:31, in record of the rich man in hell, the rich man asks Abraham to send someone to warn his brothers. Abraham replies that if they won’t believe Moses, they believe though one rose from the dead..
