The Best Mother, Prov 31 – May 10, 2026

If you want to be the best mother you can be then follow the wise words of Prov 31.  The best mother:

Is a God-fearing woman – Prov 31:30.  She doesn’t seek approval and praise from the world or peers.  She’s fears God and desires to please him.

Is a Virtuous Woman – Prov 31:10, 29.  Virtuous is morally excellent, exhibiting morally good behavior and character, chaste.  The best mother stays clean.  She doesn’t fill her mind or spirit with worldly things that defile her.

Is a Strong Woman – Prov 31:25, 17.  Strength and honor are her clothing.  Look at all she’s doing in the passage.  She’s not following the example of the TV and movie women. And she’s not strong just because of her gym workouts.

Is an Industrious Woman – Prov 31:27.  She’s a homemaker.  Schools used to teach home economics.  I’m not a proponent of two income families.  In premarital instruction, we teach young couples to prepare to live on one income.  Who’s going to raise your kids?  There’s much to do to keep a home, Titus 2:5.

Is a Wise Woman – Prov 31:26, 1-9.  King Lemuel’s mother was certainly a wise woman.  Consider her counsel in Prov 31:1-9.  In v.9 she gave her son counsel that would establish his throne for ever, Prov 29:14.

Conclusion: Prov 31:28-31 When you are a mother like this, your children will call you blessed, your husband will praise you, and others and even your own works will praise you.
