Ephesians 5:6-14 Children of Light CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

When you got saved, Christ called you out of darkness and into light, I Pet 2:9.  Compare Jn 1:4-5, Jn 8:12, Ps 119:105, 130.  The people who don’t get saved stay in darkness, Jn 3:19.  So once you get saved and you are in the light, there are certain things you must do and certain things you must not do:

You must not be deceived (v. 6)

1. Huge deception campaigns to make people accept sin as normal and acceptable – such as Fornication, Homosexuality, Covetousness (economy), 5:3-5
2. Matt 24:4, take heed that no man deceive you
3. Gal 6:7, be not deceived
4. Gal 6:3, don’t deceive yourself
5. God is going to pour out his wrath on that stuff

You must not go along with them (v. 7)

1. World always trying to attract you away from God and steal your affection for the Lord
2. You can go down the right road with any man as long as he stays on the right road.  When he veers off, that is where you have to leave him

You must walk as children of light (v.8)

1. Matt 5:16

You must manifest the fruit of the Spirit (v. 9)

1. Gal 5:22-23
2. Prov 29:27

You must prove what is acceptable (v. 10)

1. I Thes 5:21
2. World acceptable fashion
3. Against the word of God

You must reprove the works of darkness (v. 11-13)

1. Preach against sin
2. Street preaching
3. Get Bible out and show them the sin
4. The stuff they do in secret is SHAMEFUL
5. DISGUSTING – you’ve got alley cat morals if you can watch this in movies and TV, AMEN?
6. You’ve got to wake up – Rom 13:11-14
