Five times the word “Creator” appears in your Bible.  In the context of each reference we learn why it is important to remember that God created us.

Ecc 12:1, “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth”.  According to the context of this verse, Ecc 11:9-10; 12:13-14, young people should remember that their creator is also their judge.  Childhood and youth are vanity.  But if a child will remember his creator, fear God, and keep his commandments, he will avoid derailing his life with vanity.  He won’t harden himself in sin as he grows older.

Is 40:28-31, “the Creator… giveth power to the faint”.  “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength”.  Our creator gives us power when we are faint and renews our strength.  As you look up in the sky and behold the sun, moon, and stars, you see the awesome power of God in display.  These ordinances should be a reminder to you that, in any time of weakness, the God who powers the universe can surely give you power and strength.

Rom 1:25, they “worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator”.  Don’t fall for this worldly pursuit.  Continue to worship the Creator.  The people who worship the creature have turned away from the living God.  And now they are given to vile affections, v.26, and a reprobate mind, v.28.  There will be a lot of pressure to accept man’s views and man’s gods and to turn away from the Creator.  Don’t do it.  You didn’t evolve; you were created.  And what the heavens declare is the glory of God; not the glory of man.  “The invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made” Rom 1:20.

1 Pet 4:16-19, “let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their soul to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator”.  The context is suffering as a Christian.  If you suffer according to the will of God, here’s what to do.  Continue in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.  Ps 37:23-25.  As we get closer to the return of Christ, Christians will suffer more and more.  Regardless, the ordinances of the sun, moon and stars will continue in what they have been given to do.  Therefore, you must continue to do in well doing what God has given you to do.  

Is 43:15, “I am the Lord, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King”.  The Creator will redeem Israel and fulfill his covenant, Jer 31:35-36.  As long as the sun, moon, and stars continue, Israel will continue as a nation.  Soon, the Lord will return for us, as he promised.  And then he will return to rule on the earth.  He wins and we win with him in the end.  When he comes, he will reward your faithfulness and allow you to rule and reign with him on the earth.

Conclusion: no matter how bad things get before Jesus returns, look up at the sky.  As long as the sun, moon and stars are there, Jesus will fulfill every promise he made to Israel and to us.  He will give you the strength you need for anything you endure down here.  What he created will continue to testify to you.  So, fear him, keep his commandments, worship him, suffer with him, and depend upon his promises.
