My Determination Zeph. 3:8-10 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
Text: Zeph 3:8-10. When God is determined to do a thing he is going to get it done and he is going to do it just the way he said – he was determined that Jesus would die for our sins and nothing got in the way of his determination – Acts 2:23; Acts 4:28 – just look at the prophecies concerning his death – and it got done in spite of the attempts by Peter to talk him out of it, his own desires in Gethsemane to get out of it, Judas’ repentance, Pilate’s attempts to let him go [Acts 3:13], and the devil’s attempts to stop him.
So, God says he’s going to get the nations together so that he can pour out his indignation upon them – and he’s going to do it – this takes place at the second advent “I rise up to the prey” – once he has them assembled he pours out his indignation, fierce anger, devouring fire of his jealousy [2 Thes 1:7-9; Eze 22:18-22] – then he purifies the language and makes it common again so that all may call upon the name of the Lord [something they did not do when they had the same language before Gen 11].
Here’s how he does it from scripture: He gives them
A Common Enemy – Ps 83; Zech 14:2 [against Jerusalem to battle]; Joel 3:2 [notice the partitioning of the land as they are doing now]; Rev 16:14 the devil [spirits] lead them in this gathering together; Rev 19:19 and they are assembled against Jesus [you can see hatred against Jesus building to a crescendo in this country].
Peace – 1 Thes 5:2-3; Dan 8:25; Dan 11:21-24; Is 48:22 – this is a false sense of peace since there is no peace saith my God to the wicked.
Devil – he unites what God separated by language and bounds – Gen 11; Deut 32:8; Acts 17:26-27; Is 10.
Conclusion: You can see all of these forces at work right now – thus it is just a matter of time – are you ready to meet the Lord?
