Four Things Comely in Going Prov. 30: 29-31 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
Prov 30:29 says, There be thee things which go well, yea, four are comely in going. These four things that are comely in going are references to the antichrist and his types – since all of the other references in Prov 30 have been doctrinally related to the Tribulation, we should expect these to be prophetic, as well.
The work of the devil, through leaders opposed to God Almighty, is done through men who are like lions, greyhounds, he goats and strong kings – their order shows the order of the devil’s work against God and Israel ever since the Jews were in bondage in Egypt.
Lion – these are the kings who were the first enemies of Israel from the captivity in Egypt through the rule of Caesar – 1 Pet 5:8; Prov 19:12; 20:2; Ezek 32:2 Pharaoh; Jer 50:17 the Assyrian kings and Nebuchadnezzar; 2 Tim 4:16-17 Caesar – the he goat slips in here as Alexander the Great, but he shows up later, as well.
Greyhound – a dog – it is the third fastest land mammal next to the pronghorn antelope and the cheetah – it can reach speeds of up to 45 mph within 1½ seconds or in 5-6 strides – Phil 3:2; 2 Pet 2:1, 22; these typify the false prophets from the ministry of Paul through the church age – apostasy moves very rapidly through the church age.
He Goat – Dan 8:5-12, 21-22; the type of Alexander the Great who stands early in the Tribulation and gains control of the world.
King – Dan 8:23-26; 2 Thes 2; Dan 11:2-4 – the devil incarnate Rev 13:1-8 – he is fierce and is ultimately destroyed at the coming of Jesus.
