“…called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.  As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.” – John 11:28-29

In this passage Mary wasted no time in responding when Jesus called for her. Each one of us should follow this example by responding to the calling of Jesus Christ. When you are vexed by life’s challenges and struggles like debt to creditors, sickness, or the death of a loved one, don’t be so quick to run to the phone, the bank, or a health agency. Seek first the Lord Jesus Christ in prayer for assistance when you are groaning in the spirit. Jesus should be your first option, not your last option. Our first objective should be to find a way to bring glory to God.

“And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go” – John 11:44

When you accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior:

• He says to the world, “Loose him, and let him go.”
• He says to sin, “Loose him, and let him go.”
• He says to the devil, “Loose him, and let him go.”

“When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled” – John 11:33 

 “Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave.” – John 11:38 

Some of the times when you find the term groaned in the Bible it refers to the Jews murmuring and complaining. The rest of the time this term always refers to either the Tribulation, or the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. There are 57 verses in the Bible concerning the event of Lazarus being raised from the dead. This event is a picture of Christ’s resurrection of the nation of Israel following their Tribulation. (Psalms 6:6, 102:5, Joel 1:18, Rom. 8:22-23, 2 Cor. 5:2, 5:4, Rom. 8:26)
