In Psalm 71:15-18 we read, “I will go in the strength of the Lord God.”  Years ago, I had that verse hanging above my office door.  It was a reminder to me to go out in the strength of the Lord.  But notice, the Psalmist said, “I will go.”  We have heard much about “going” from all the emphasis on missions lately.  I will go.

How will I go – I will go in the strength of the Lord God.  You can’t rely upon your own strength; it’s not sufficient for the work of God.  So, go with the Lord’s strength.  David prayed, “O God, forsake me not.”  God won’t forsake you when you go.  The Lord said to Jeremiah, “Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord,” [Jer 1:8].  So, go with the Lord’s presence.  David said, “O God, thou hast taught me.”  He has taught you much through the preaching and teaching of his words.  You know much more than you think you know.  So, go with the Lord’s words.

With what will I go – I will go with my mouth.  With your mouth, you shew forth, make mention, and declare.  You declare the Lord’s righteousness.  Jesus has the only righteousness in the universe; everything and everyone else have been corrupted by sin.  You declare his salvation.  We preach the gospel. You declare his wondrous works.  Hasn’t the Lord done wondrous works in your life?  He’s made you a completely new creature.  You declare his strength and his power.  Paul said, “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.”

Where will I go – I will go unto this generation, to every one that is to come.  We should be a ready witness to all whom we meet.  If you are willing to go, God will give you people to whom you can witness.  

When will I go – I will go from my youth.  I will go when I am old.  I will go all the day.  You are never too young or old to go with the gospel.  When you are young, they think you are “cute” and they’ll take a tract from you.  When you are old, they finally take you seriously.  In between, your zeal will keep you going.

Why will I go – I will go for I know not the numbers (of my days) thereof.  Is there anyone you have been praying about talking to?  Schedule an appointment with them and go.  Schedule to go with a partner, if you think you might need help.  Ask one of us to help you and we can go.

Conclusion: Commit like the Psalmist did and say, “I will go.”  And then go with your mouth, no matter where you are geographically.  And declare to them what God wants you to say.
