Bob Jones, Sr. said, “You can borrow brains but you cannot borrow character.”  First look at what integrity is and then look at the character into which it guides you:

Integrity – Moral Soundness, honesty, freedom from corrupting influence 2 Cor 2:17 vs. 1 Thes 2:10 – gives you his word and you can count on it “he’s as good as his word”

Respect – Lev 19:32; 1 Pet 5:5

Punctuality – on time, full days work for a full days pay – make them believe they are getting all of their money’s worth and then some – Prov 10:26; 2 Sam 20:4-6

Frugality – not stingy, spending under control, doesn’t purchase until he has the resources to pay for it, gives – Eph 4:28; 1 Cor 16:1-2; Ps 37:21; the borrower is the servant of the lender

Reputation – good name, good report without – what you would do if you could get away with it and no one would ever know determines the measure of your character [goes beyond reputation to what you really are] – Prov 22:1; 1 Tim 3:7

Diligence – Prov 22:29 – stays till job is complete – 1 Cor 15:58, 2 Tin 4:7 – the test of your character is what it takes to stop you

Prudence – circumspect in action, cautious, sensible, discreet, practically wise – Eph 5:15

Accountability – as unto the Lord – Eph 6:5-8 – goes beyond being accountable to man – Rom 14:12 – boss looking over your shoulder

Loyalty – 2 Tim 4:10-11 Demas and Luke – stick with you in tough times – find out who your friends are

Faithfulness – 1 Cor 4:2; Prov 20:6 hard to find
