Love of God Matt 22:35 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
We know that the love of God is the greatest commandment in the Bible and as a result it should guide every thing in our lives. When we love God, it is evident in that:
We love talking to him – when you love someone, you enjoy conversing with him or her – and when you love God, you will pray – a weak prayer life is a good indication of a weak love.
We love talking about him – when you love someone, you are excited to tell others about him or her – you can hardly keep from telling others about this person you love – and when you love God, you will gladly speak to others about him – this is witnessing
We love fellowshipping with him – 1 Jn 1:3-4 – when you love someone you love being around him or her – and when you love God you enjoy being around him – you look forward to spending time together with him
We love giving to him – 2 Cor 8:8 – when you love someone you love to give them things and when you love God you love to give to him, as well – if a man will ever love God with all of his heart, it will be easy for him to love God with his pocketbook too.
We love others who love him– 1 Jn 4:20 – the trouble with churches that split is not that there is something wrong with the other people, the trouble is that there is something wrong with the peoples’ love for God. When you truly love God, you will love God’s children, as well
