Names of Jesus “R” Part III CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

When you consider the names and titles of the Lord Jesus Christ, there are so many that we must deal with them alphabetically just to do them justice. There are many wonderful things that you will learn about Jesus when you study the names of Jesus.  Today, we’ll study some of the names of Jesus and his titles that start with the letter “R.”

Rabbi – Jn 1:38 – he’s your Master – even Mary, who loved him, called him this.

Rabboni – Jn 20:16 – “my master” – you need a Master to get you through this life – before his death, burial and resurrection he could not impart righteousness to them he could only instruct them in righteousness – and many didn’t want him to be their Master.

Rejected – Is 53:3 – he was rejected – man of sorrows – that’s the expectation he has of the world – he’s at enmity with the world – he wants us out of the world but we can’t reject him [receive him instead] – and despite his rejection and ultimate crucifixion, “he is risen.”

Risen – Mk 16:6 – his resurrection was troublesome for the Pharisees – in Acts 2:36 their question was now what – well now that you know he’s risen there are some things to consider – you have to deal with this risen Master – if you receive him he is your resurrection.

Resurrection – Jn 11:25 – Praise the Lord – you get to come up like he did.

Righteousness – 1 Cor 1:30 – he is righteousness for you – so he doesn’t just instruct you in righteousness, he actually lives his righteousness in you as you yield to him.
