Nothing Between 2 Cor. 6 :14-18 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
There should be nothing between you and the Lord that negatively affects your relationship with him. But often we let things get between us and the Lord. Nothing between includes:
Friends – 2 Cor 6:14-18; Prov 13:20 – if you have to disguise your relationship with Jesus to get along with your friends, they have come between you and the Lord. Follow the Lord and let your friends decide whether they’re going to come around to Jesus or drop you.
Family – Lk 14:26 – if family is holding you back in your relationship with the Lord they have come between you and the Lord. Follow the Lord and pray that your family will come around.
Fun – 2 Tim 3:4 – these days men are lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. If you are spending more time with your pleasures than you are with God, they have come between you and the Lord. And don’t tell me about worshipping God while enjoying your pleasures when you should be in your pew. It’s okay to have fun but not to the detriment of your relationship with God.
Finances – 1 Tim 6:10, Matt 6:24, Mk 10:17-27 – money can easily get between you and the Lord and when it does, it will cause you to err from the faith. You must not love money and possessions.
Fantasies – 2 Cor 10:3-5 – imaginations and thoughts that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God particularly while you are trying to have fellowship with him come between you and the Lord. Get control of your thoughts.
Fears – 2 Tim 1:7 – God hath not given us the spirit of fear. Often men become so afraid that God becomes very small and their problems become overwhelmingly big. Fear the Lord and trust him and turn away from these other fears. They are getting between you and the Lord.
Conclusion: these are the most common things that come between us and the Lord. Deal with the ones that are negatively affecting your relationship with the Lord so that there will be nothing between.
