According to Prov 5:6, we are to ponder the path of life. As you ponder this path you recognize that it is:
The Path of Salvation – Prov 5:5; 1 Jn 5:12. In the proverb, the strange woman leads you down the path of death all the way to hell. Jesus, on the other hand, is the life, Jn 14:6. And when you have him, you have life. So, we enter the path of life by receiving Jesus.
The Path of Obedience – Prov 5:13; Eph 6:1-3. the fellow that follows the strange woman in this proverb is not obedient. The best thing for a person to do is to trust Jesus in his or her youth and to learn to obey by being obedient to their parents. Obeying your parents guarantees long life.
The Path of Instruction – Prov 5:12-13; Prov 6:23. Instruction includes reproof, and this is why most people don’t like it. They don’t want to be told that they are wrong. However, if you are willing to be corrected and instructed, you can continue down the path of life.
The Path of Conformity – Prov 5:6. It is called THE path of life. There is only one. And along this path the Lord will ponder your heart, Prov 21:2, and your goings, Prov 5:21. Therefore, you must keep your heart with all diligence and ponder the path of your feet, Prov 4:23-27. You will find yourself conformed to Jesus Christ and conformed to his will.
The path of life is absolutely the best path you can walk on this earth. If you’re on it, watch out for all of the intersections and detours and don’t turn to the right or to the left. Look right on and walk straight. Don’t let sin entice you in anyway to get off of this path.
