In Proverbs 3:32-35, Solomon mentions some very select provisions from the Lord given to select people. You see these provisions for the following select people:
His secret is for the righteous – Prov 3:32 – “His secret is with the righteous.” In Deut 29:29 “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God.” However, God reveals certain things to his people. In Prov 25:2 “it is the glory of God to conceal a thing.” However, like kings who search out a matter, we have been commanded to study God’s words [2 Tim 2:15]. When you are righteous and you study with a desire to learn what God said, the Holy Spirit reveals his truth to you [1 Cor 2:10]. The reason that some don’t understand what they are reading is that they are not righteous. In Dan 2:19 the secret of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream was revealed unto Daniel. In Dan 2:27-28 Daniel said that the secret was not revealed to the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers [who were like the evolutionists and skeptics of today]. Rather, “there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets.” And Daniel made it plain in verse 30 that the secret was not revealed to him for any wisdom that he had. You don’t discover the secrets of God through your own wisdom [Lk 10:21]. God reveals his truth to babes. If you want to know what the Bible says, become righteous by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and yield to his righteousness in your life.
His blessing is for the just – Prov 3:33 – “His blessing is upon the habitation of the just.” In Prov 3:24-26 we can see some of the Lord’s blessings on the just. You sleep without fear and you are not afraid of the desolation of the wicked when it cometh; and it will surely come. Lorenzo Dow, an American evangelist born in Connecticut in 1777, traveled 200,000 miles preaching the gospel, until his death in 1834. He shook the dust off his shoes on his way out of the town of Jacksonboro, GA, because they had rejected the Lord Jesus Christ. The only thing left standing on US 301 north of Sylvania, where Jacksonboro used to be, is the house belonging to the Goodall family where Lorenzo Dow stayed. The Lord blessed the habitation of the Goodall’s and cursed the town of the wicked. The Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, but saved one man… “just Lot,” [2 Pet 2:6-7].
His grace is for the lowly – Prov 3:34 – “He giveth grace unto the lowly.” Jesus is meek and lowly [Matt 11:28-30]. And yet he was full of grace and truth [Jn 1:14]. The abundance of his grace is proportional to his lowliness. In Heb 4:16, we come boldly unto the throne of grace, but we must come humbly. “God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble,” [1 Pet 5:5]. Jas 4:6 says the same thing. We absolutely need God’s grace. His grace strengthens every weakness we have. But we must come to him in humility.
His glory is for the wise – Prov 3:35 – “The wise shall inherit glory.” The way to inherit glory is to suffer with him [Rom 8:16-18]. The world is contrary to God and contrary to Jesus. And since the world is contrary to them, it is also contrary to us. You are going to be ridiculed and reproached by the world if you stand for Jesus. The wise thing to do is to stand for Jesus. You will inherit glory.
Conclusion: If you want these select provisions of God, then walk in righteousness, do justice, stay humble, and be wise.
