Stand For

Stand For

2 Thes 2:15

There is a saying that goes like this, “If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything”. What do you stand for? Paul told us to stand fast. This implies that there are things we should believe in and not be moved or persuaded from. Again, what do you stand for, and are you stedfast or unmovable?

[2 Thes 2:15]      We ought to Stand Fast for the things of the Bible

  • [1 Thes 2:13] Stand fast that the Bible is the God’s words, it’s foundational
    • If you really believe that the Bible is God’s words, then there should be a sincere desire to obey them, and a sorrowful contrite heart when you don’t. You must have this foundation, Stand Fast for the things of the Bible.
[Ps.78:8]              We ought to be Stedfast in our heart and spirit with God

  • [Ps.78:35-37] The Pharisees are still alive and well in the church. You need to be who you are, the same at church as anywhere else. To be stedfast is to be constant.
    • [Gen.49:4] unstable as water, thou shalt not excel. Besides the foolishness of trying to live several different lives at once, it makes it impossible to excel.
    • [James 1:8] A double minded man is unstable in ALL his ways. When you are not constant or stedfast in heart and spirit, you are unstable in all your ways.
[Rom.16:25]       God is of the power to stablish you (to settle in a state for permanence)

  • [2 Thes 2:17] If you will believe God’s words, and give him your heart by not pretending, He is of the power to stablish you in every good word and work. You don’t have the power to do these things on you own.
  • [2 Thes 3:3] He will keep you from evil. Once again, if you just believe His word, and submit your heart to Him, He will stablish or settle you in a path away from evil. [Prov.13:21] evil pursueth sinners.
  • [1 Thes 3:13] The job will be completed at the coming of the Lord.

Stand Fast in God’s word, be stedfast in your heart and spirit with God, and allow Him to stablish you in righteousness. This is truly something to Stand For.
