Some people use the Bible wrongly in two ways. To accuse others of wrong doing and to justify themselves. (Luke 16:15  “And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.”)

If the Pharisees had the woman who was “taken in adultery, in the very act“ (John 8:4) then why did they not bring the man also? (Lev. 20:10, Matt. 7:3, Deut. 22:22, 28) When the Pharisees presented the woman to Jesus the Bible says that He momentarily ignored them and knelt down to write in the sand. It is not stated what He wrote, but big things happen when the finger of God does something. (Exodus 31:18, Dan. 5:5)

The Pharisees were trying to use the scriptures as a snare, but Jesus used it as the light of truth to expose their dark deeds.
