The God of Monotheistic Religions, Jn 1:1

Many people profess that the major monotheistic religions of the world all believe in the same God.  However, a little bit of Bible study will reveal to you that they do not worship the same God.  Many of the media talk about the world’s 3 great religions, Roman Catholicism, Judaism, and Islam, as having the same God.  They do not.  Nor do they believe in the God of the Bible.

The God of the Bible begat a Son named Jesus Christ, who descended from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  His Son is God (Jn 1:1), the creator of the universe (Col 1:16), who was manifested in the flesh (1 Tim 3:16), and who died and was buried and rose again from the dead according to the scriptures (1 Cor 15:1-4).  God’s Son will return to this earth as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Rev 19:16) and he will rule the world sitting upon the throne of David in Jerusalem (Heb 1:8; Is 9:6-7; Zech 14:9).

Anyone desiring to be a son of God, to go to heaven and to have eternal life must receive God’s Son as his Savior (Jn 1:12; Jn 14:6; 1 Tim 2:5) “for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved,” (Acts 4:12). It’s “at the name of Jesus that every knee should bow; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father,” (Phil 2:10-11).  You see this is the true God; this is eternal life; this is the Son of God; this is the God of the Bible (1 Jn 5:20).

But this is not the God of the three major religions of the world.  The God of Islam is Allah. Allah begat no son.  There is no blood shed by Allah’s non-existent son to atone for our sins. No one in Islam is born again.  In Islam, the promise of the land granted to Abraham goes to the Muslims through Abraham’s son Ishmael, for they believe that Abraham offered Ishmael on the altar, not Isaac (Gen 22).

This God cannot be the same God as the God of the Bible.  Nor can he be the same as the God of Roman Catholicism.  The Roman Catholic Church believes that God begat a Son.  And they believe that his Son died for our sins.  So, the God of Islam and the God of Roman Catholicism cannot be the same.

But then the God of Roman Catholicism is not the God of the Bible, either.  For the God of the Bible doesn’t have a mother. Roman Catholicism professes that Mary is the “Mother of God.”  They also believe that Jesus is reigning spiritually now and that he will not have a literal earthly reign, contrary to Rev 20.  They believe that his spiritual reign is through their religious hierarchy and dominance worldwide.  They also believe that tradition is of equal authority with the Bible, contrary to Mark 7.  And their pope rejected the first 10 chapters of the Bible as literal, contrary to Jn 5:45-47.  After all, the God of the Bible said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him, (Matt 17:5).”

Furthermore, the God of the Jews is not the same as the God of either the Catholics or the Muslims.  According to Judaism, God is not the father of Jesus, thus causing an irreconcilable difference with Catholicism.  And God promised the land granted to Abraham to the Jews through Isaac and not to the Muslims through Ishmael, causing an irreconcilable difference with Islam.

Besides, the God of Judaism is not the God of the Bible.  The God of the Bible is the Father of Jesus, who is the Messiah and who is God, himself (Jn 10:30; 5:18; 4:25-26). Judaism rejects Jesus Christ as the Messiah.  When Jesus presented himself to the Jews of his day, they crucified him. “Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me,” (John 8:42).  They rejected Jesus because they had rejected God.

Jesus Christ is God. The only way a man can get to the God of the Bible is through the Lord Jesus Christ.  There is no other way.  He cannot get to God by his good works (Eph 2:8,9).  Yet, the major religions of the world all profess that men must do good works in their religions to get to heaven.  Hence, the major religions of the world are all wrong.

In the end, the God of the Bible will send his Son back to the earth and he will destroy the religions, save the Jews (Rom 11:25-26) and establish a theocratic government based solely on the words of God as found in the Bible.  The Koran, tradition, the popes and orthodoxy will all be ruined.  Everything will be judged by Jesus Christ according to the words of God, period.

Getting religious people together by saying that they worship the same God is absolutely impossible.  These religions will settle for nothing less than to be the ruling religion of the world.  They have killed and will continue to kill to get their way.  And to think that they will attempt to rule the world without Jesus Christ is suicidal!  The result will be the biggest world war known to man.  Billions, not millions, will die.  Your only hope is to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior and not believe the lie of a common god among monotheistic religions.
