The God to Seek 1 Chr. 16:10-11 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

God Almighty is the God to seek.  In 1 Chr 16:10-11 we are told to seek the Lord.  When you seek the Lord there are three things of his that you want to seek:

Seek his name – the God to seek has a name that is exalted, powerful and protective.  In Ex 3:14 he is I AM THAT I AM.  When Judas brought a band of soldiers who sought Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus said, “I am he,” [Jn 18:5].  He replied with the same name as God in Ex 3.  This is the name which no man knew in Rev 19:12 but Jesus himself.  The name of Jesus is the name above every name [Phil 2:9-12; Acts 4:8-12] and the name by which we are saved.  In the name of the Lord we have protection [Ps 18:1-3; Prov 18:10].  Glory ye and rejoice in his holy name.

Seek his strength – you need the strength of the God to seek in the time of weakness more than a relief from the cause of your weakness [2 Cor 12:9-10].  The trinity gets involved when you seek the Lord’s strength.   I will go in the strength of the Lord God [Ps 71:16].  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me [Phil 4:13].  Be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man [Eph 3:16].

Seek his face – according to Rom 8:29 we are predestined to be conformed to the image of the God to seek when we are saved.  Therefore, when facing problems, turn from them and gaze at the Saviour; merely glance at the problem.  In 2 Cor 3:18 we are changed into the same image from glory to glory when we behold the glory of the Lord.  In 1 Cor 13:12 we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face.  Compare Jas 1:22-25 where looking into his word is like looking at him.

Conclusion: don’t concern yourself with seeking anything or anyone else in your life.  Seek the God to seek.  Seek the Lord while he may be found [Is 55:6].
