Galatians 3: 7-14 The Just Shall Live By Faith CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

In this passage, Paul shows the difference between living by faith and living by the law.  The big difference is that religion is “DO” and salvation is “DONE.”

WHEN YOU LIVE BY FAITH, YOU:

1. Become a child of  Abraham (v.  7 )
   1. Rom 4:11, father of all them that believe
   2. Rom 4:16-17
2. Are justified with Abraham (v. 8 )
   1. Rom 4:5; 5:1
   2. Scripture foreseeing, preached, raised up, Rom 9:17
   3. Gospel unto Abraham, Jn 8:56
   4. Heb 11:19
   5. Nations blessed – showing more than Jews get in and if so, then Rom 2:28-29
   6. Not by laws
3. Are blessed with Abraham (v. 9)
   1. Rom 4:13, heir

WHEN YOU LIVE BY THE LAW, YOU:

1. Put yourself under a curse (v. 10)
   1. Rom 4:15, worketh wrath
   2. Rom 3:19
2. Cannot be justified (v. 11)
   1. Rom 3:20
   2. Gal 2:16
   3. Football: keep all the rules, but step out of bounds on a pass, and it is “no good”
3. Cannot live by faith (v. 12)
   1. Rom 4:14
   2. Rom 10:3-10
   3. Faith: believe something is so
   4. Law: you don’t believe
4. Why is that so? (v. 13)
   1. Christ has already redeemed us from the curse
   2. II Cor 5:20-21
   3. Jn 3:18, 36

5. So come to Christ by faith and receive promise of the Spirit (v. 14)
