The (K)not’s of the Bible

The (K)not’s of the Bible

Ecclesiastes 4:12
12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Overhand Knot

First knot learned- to tie your shoes

Foundational knot for other knots

String on finger (overhand knot) used to remember

The Forget Not   God’s Promises

Psalm 103:1-5
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

 Ask the Lord to bring alive a special promise from his word, then take it, believe it, and press on.

Square Knot

Built of the foundational knot

Powerful – Used to tie two ropes together or tie anything together

Very strong but easily managed

The Faint Not  God’s Power

            Galatians 6:9
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

God’s power is in his word. God’s power, already proven in your life, is your strong tower. In times of discouragement, know He is the one you can lean on. You can depend on him for strength in your weakness. Philp.4:13

The Bowline

Rescue Knot

Used to cinch down a load

The Fear Not    God’s Presence

            Isaiah 41:10
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

He is your constant companion, your friend. He has not given you the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (II Tim.1:7) He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Heb.13:5)

Your Rescue knot is only as good as the anchor – Heb.6:19 Jesus   Remember, He is the one holding the other end of your rope.

            The Fail Not

            1 Kings 8:56
56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

Because God has never failed not, we are able to hold on to the forget not’s, the faint not’s, and the fear not’s of the Bible.
