The Lord Weigheth the Spirits, Part 2
Last Sunday night we began a two-part message entitled, “The Lord Weigheth the Spirits”. Tonight, we will conclude the message. Let’s first recall what we studied in Part 1.
When the Lord weighs our spirits, in all of us, he is looking for:
- A contrite spirit, Ps 34:18.
- A humble spirit, Is 57:15.
- A right spirit, Ps 51:10.
- A guileless spirit, Ps 32:2.
- A refreshed spirit, 1 Cor 16:18, 2 Cor 7:13.
- A willing spirit, Ex 35:21.
In addition to these, the Lord also wants us to have:
A controlled spirit, Prov 16:32. He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. We must have rule over our spirit.
A patient spirit, Ecc 7:8. The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. He that hasteth with his feet sinneth, Prov 19:2.
A fervent spirit, Acts 18:25. Apollos. Rom 12:11 not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. Zealous.
A faithful spirit, Prov 11:13. A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
An excellent spirit, Prov 17:27 a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. This was the spirit that Daniel had, Dan 5:12.
The same spirit, 2 Cor 12:18. (speaking of Titus) walked we not in the same spirit? Num 11:16-17, 25. The Lord took of the spirit that was on Moses and gave it to the seventy elders.
