The Mouth in the Temple of the Holy Ghost Prov.10:32 CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO

The mouth is a very important part of the temple of the Holy Ghost.  We will study what the Bible says about how we should use our mouths.  Of course, one Sunday school lesson does not afford sufficient time to do an exhaustive study.  Nevertheless, we will learn some of the more important things regarding the use of our mouths.

Know what is acceptable – Prov 10:32 – and since we have the righteousness of Jesus Christ in us, we should speak acceptable things.  To do this we need to:

• Study to answer – Prov 15:28
• Speak as the oracles of God – 1 Pet 4:11

These are acceptable things to the Lord:

• Singing and Praise – Col 3:16
• Rejoicing – 1 Thes 5:16
• Prayer – 1 Thes 5:17
• Thanksgiving – 1 Thes 5:18

These are unacceptable things to the Lord:

• Flattery – Prov 28:23
• Gossip – Prov 18:8
• Lies – Prov 6:17
• Frowardness – Prov 4:24
• Foolishness – Prov 15:2, see also Prov 14:7

Be slow to speak – Jas 1:19; Prov 29:20

• Spare your words – Prov 17:27
• Hold your peace – Prov 17:28
• W.A.I.T. – ask yourself “Why Am I Talking?”

Know how to answer every man – Col 4:6 – let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt

Call upon the name of the Lord – Rom 10:13 – if you are not already saved.
