The Sixth Trumpet
The Sixth trumpet sounds and 200,000,000 supernatural horses appear, killing 1/3 of the population of the earth. Here are the details:
13 – John hears a voice coming from the four horns of the golden altar [see Exodus 30:2-3]
14 – the voice instructs the sixth angel to loose the four angels which are bound in the Euphrates [compare this to the sixth vial in Rev 16:12, at which time the Euphrates is dried up]
15 – the four angels are loosed – they have been prepared for a very specific time that is figured down to the very hour of a specific day in a specific month in a specific year [commonly prophecies are recorded as of their day, month and year, i.e., Zechariah 7:1] – notice, you will not be able to accurately figure this date and time [Acts 1:7, Matthew 24:36]
15 – their purpose is to slay one third of men – as of Revelation 6:8, ¼ of the population is gone – so if there are roughly 6 billion people on earth, then after Revelation 6:8, there will only be 4.5 billion left, since 1.5 billion will have been killed – and after Revelation 9:15, there will only be 3 billion left, since another 1.5 billion will have been killed – so half the population is gone before Armageddon even starts
16 – the number of horsemen in the army is 200,000,000
17 – John sees the horses in the vision and the horsemen sitting on them – he sees the breastplates [either on the horses, like they were on the locusts in 9:9, on the horsemen, or on both] – the breastplates are of fire, jacinth [a reddish, orange transparent gemstone (Revelation 21:20)], and brimstone [sulphur – H2S Hydrogen Sulfide is extremely deadly] – the fire and brimstone show you that these horses and horsemen have come for judgment [Genesis 19:24, Rev 21:8]
17 – the heads of the horses are AS the heads of lions [so that’s what they look like] – and fire and smoke and brimstone come out of their mouths
18 – the fire and the smoke and the brimstone coming out of their mouths kill the third part of men – most scholars don’t want to believe that these horses are supernatural and that the fire, jacinth, and brimstone are literal, but rather figurative – they believe these three elements merely describe the colors that John saw and that the armies are really the cavalry of the Turks dressed in their tri-colored array – however, note that these supernatural horses have supernatural counterparts [2 Kings 6:16-17]
19 – their power to kill is in their mouths and in their tails – their tails are like serpents with heads and with them they hurt men
20 – the remaining 2/3 who are not killed, refuse to repent, though these plagues should have caused them to repent and turn back to God [Jonah 3:8-10; Leviticus 26:14-18]
20 – they do not repent of their devil worship and idolatry – these lead them from the worship of devils and statues to the worship of THE Devil and HIS image of the beast [1 Corinthians 10:20-21; Revelation 13:4, 8, 12, 15] – the idols they worship are the idols that Belshazzar worshipped that ultimately led to his death and the destruction of his kingdom [Daniel 5:4] – men never learn – the obvious limitations of these false gods are that they cannot see, hear, or walk [Psalms 115:4-8] – notice that they cannot speak, either, but the Lord doesn’t mention that in Revelation 9 because the false prophet will cause the image of the antichrist to speak [Revelation 13:15]
21 – They don’t repent of four other things, as well:
Murder – Exodus 20:13
Sorcery – the use of an evil supernatural power over people [Acts 8:9-11; 13:6-8] – the purpose is to elevate the status of the sorcerer [Acts 8:9], to make the people think that his power comes from God [Acts 8:10], and to get followers [Acts 8:11] – sorcerers turn away their followers from the truth and faith [Acts 13:6, 8] – they literally bewitch the congregation and lead them to reject the truth [Galatians 3:1] – is this not precisely what mega-church pastors are doing today – they are modern-day sorcerers – Malachi 3:5
Fornication – Exodus 20:14
Theft – Exodus 20:15
It would have helped to educate the children on the Ten Commandments – it would have helped if the modern pastors had not been doing these things as examples to their congregations – much of what is going on in apostate churches today is simply preparing the world for what the antichrist is going to be doing during the tribulation
