OVERCOMING OBSTACLES IN SOUL WINNING

Jn. 4:10-26

In this lesson we see one of the greatest salvation experiences in the Bible.  It reveals the obstacles that men typically have to deal with and the answers the Lord generally has to overcome these obstacles to getting saved.  Now notice that we, as soul winners, can learn a lot from this conversation about how to deal with the lost.  It begins with Jesus conveniently turning the conversation to spiritual matters.  That seems to be one of the hardest parts in soul winning – how to get the conversation going.

Jesus took a request for a drink of water and turned it to a conversation about “living water.”  Jesus was excellent at getting conversations on to matters of the soul.  See Jn. 3:1-3; Jn. 5:6; Jn. 9:35, etc
