They Sent Out and Brought, Matt 14:34-36 – July 9, 2026

They Sent Out and Brought

In Matt 14:34-36, notice that there are three principal people.  There are the men of that place.  There are the diseased of that country.  And there is the Son of God, Matt 14:33.

Look what each of them did.

The men of that place.  They had knowledge of the Son of God.  They knew Jesus had arrived and they knew what he could do.  So, they sent out into all that country round about.  And they brought unto him all that were diseased.  They sent out and brought.  The men knew that Jesus would heal the diseased.

The diseased of that country.  They besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment.  The word had spread about the woman who had been healed by touching his garment, Matt 9:21-22.  They besought and they touched.  Is it possible that their healing could be that simple?  Absolutely.

The Son of God.  He healed everyone of them.  As many as touched were made perfectly whole.

Do you know what Jesus does when a sinner comes to him to be saved?  He saves them.  You know this just like these men knew what Jesus would do.  And getting saved is not hard; it’s simple.  Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, Rom 10:13.  Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…, Acts 16:31.

Therefore, what should we do?

We should do what the men of that place did.  The men sent out and brought the diseased to Jesus.  We should send out and bring lost people here to where Jesus saves.

A local church is a very special place for people to get saved.  Truly, Jesus can save anywhere and at anytime.  However, the Holy Spirit works in a very powerful and unique way during the preaching of the Bible in a local church.

When Jesus was in the land of Gennesaret, the diseased besought and touched him.  And he healed them all.  Here sinners can call upon the name of the Lord and believe on his name and be saved.  And Jesus will save everyone who does.

As the men of that place sent out and brought the diseased to be healed, so we should send out and bring the lost to be saved.
